Position:

Doctoral candidate in School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies, University of Bristol.

Profile:

Alessio’s doctoral research focuses on established radical right political parties that have an increasing electoral success and impact in most Western European party systems, both in terms of electoral results and influence to mainstream political parties’ agenda. His research explores the growing electoral success of established radical right political parties in studies of cleavage structures. More specifically, he looks at how these political parties actively internalise new recent fundamental socio-political changes and convert them into electoral consent. His research employs a comparative case study research between Italian League and French National Rally using a content analysis approach for mass media and political manifesto data, covering a time frame between the early 1970s and 2019.

Alessio holds a M.A. double degree in European Studies between Padoua University and the Jagiellonian University.
