HOST: AUGUSTA DELL’OMO

SPECIAL GUEST: ASHLEY MATTHEIS

SPECIAL GUEST: ASHTON KINGDON

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Guests Ashton Kingdon and Ashley Mattheis join Right Rising to discuss the ethical implications of studying the far-right. Along with host Augusta Dell’Omo, Ashton and Ashley walk us through the existing institutions that protect ethical research and how they fall short in safeguarding scholars studying extremism online. Ashton and Ashley explain the threats faced by researchers – particularly women, people of colour, and LGBTQIA+ individuals – and how their new unit at CARR focusing on ethics aims to increase researcher safety.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Right-wing authoritarian and extremist movements are on the march worldwide. This podcast will host some of the globe’s leading experts on the radical right to help us understand the development of these extremists. Each episode, hosts and guests bring their specialist insights to break down the critical people, places, organisations, actions, and ideas of the radical right. Produced by the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right.
