Abdelkarim Amengay is a PhD candidate in political science at Sciences Po Paris and the University of Ottawa. He is a recipient of the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Scholarship. Abdelkarim’s dissertation analyzes how media content related to immigration and crime, among other issues, favored the electoral success of the French radical right party Front National during the last presidential elections. Currently, he is developing a new project that studies the relationship between personality traits and voting for populist parties. Abdelkarim has published on French politics in Political Science Review and the Revue française de science politique.
